3D printed models made with Middlesex Hospital to train obstetricians and to analyze body parts.

In the spring of 2024 I was contacted by Middlesex Hospital's Obstetrics Department to produce 3D printed parts to train obstetricians to place IUDs, analyze dislocated joints for x-ray practice, and other body parts for analysis.
I edited 3D scans and leveraged material properties so the print succeeds while keeping the geometry and function biologically accurate. The image above is one of those models in the slicer, with the supports that let it print.
The final uterus models were 3D printed in halves in TPU, with embedded magnets to allow two halves to snap together and come apart for practice analysis.
